Clan of Xymox – Alice – Darkwave Alice

Image
I've been listening to this band for a long time. Among darkwave bands, they're my favorite. Their albums are consistent, with a good sound. No punk. No unnecessary elements. Just good, dark music. Darkwave, gothic, rock. Electronica. I've listened to some of their albums a lot. Although I haven't listened to all of their albums. I've mostly listened to In Love, We Trust.

Galixanar – like fish from space

We're diving back into the retro theme. It's 320x240 resolution. And the 64-color palette is from MS DOS. It's a game like Space Invaders or Galaga. The idea is simple: you move left and right and shoot. And it's all done in a certain style. And there are enemies above. You score points. There are several levels. At least one lane with enemies. There are 10 per lane.

Crossed Blades

Dry ground. There are cracks in it that lead somewhere into the darkness. Such fissures. As if they were pieces of different stones. But this is dry ground. On a desolate edge. This is no longer a desert or a forest. This is the middle land. The parched earth tells us it's the hot season. There is almost no rain here. And there is almost no one here.

Musical success – a pile of notes and headphones

Image
I continue to make music. A new year has arrived. My new cosmic cycle follows the phases of the sun. The Earth has revolved around the sun. And a new cycle. Music for me is magic. And it's practice and technique. You have to constantly practice. True, for now I'm still a sorcerer's apprentice. I'm just learning. And making progress. By my standards. This makes me very happy.

Till Wild - Find a Way (feat. Glitterwolf & Ultraboss) – hip '80s rock

Image
A promising start to the song. So quiet. And the backing vocals. Why drag it out right away? Cool. So slick with effects. It sounds somehow unusual. The singer tells us and sings his story. A story about the '80s, about the hip '80s. Then comes a cool, driving rock chorus. With echo. Carrying deep into the room.

Straight Road – in the middle of the office day, we went to the sea, a virtual one!

Image
Road and sun. What could be better? Probably only the road to the sea. At the end of the workweek. Early on Friday. But already in the afternoon. So there are other cars on the road. But not many yet. And the road to the sea is not wide. Just two lanes. Summer. Sun. And you have a great car. With a convertible. And you're driving to the sea. That was the idea when developing the game.

Alice in the Park – Alice Meets a Green Caterpillar

Image
Alice walks along a wide path. And around her is a field. So vast. And it seems endless. Like an ocean or a sea. Yellow grass. And dry twigs. Rising up. These aren't grass anymore, but simply dry yellow or orange twigs. Brown. Reddish. Gray. Brown.

Caveblazers – a cave with chests and treasures

Image
Here I found another very small game. I got it on sale on Steam. It's about caves. And it's a roguelike. Only this time it's from a side view. Like on an 8-bit Dendy console. And it also has pixel graphics. But this is on PC. It's on Steam. And the graphics are pixelated, retro. And quite nice and decent. Everything seems to be so bright here. Lots of sprites. Everything moves cool. A lot happens on the screen. A roguelike with dynamics.

Ghost – It's a Sin – putting together a video on Windows 95, that's something new!

Image
What do we know about ghosts? That they sing! This time it's a retro clip. In the Windows 95 style. And that really caught my attention. With the song "It's a Sin" by the synthpop band Pet Shop Boys. I really like these kinds of ghosts. The clip is truly retro. Windows 95. The program starts. The desktop. With folders dedicated to the band. And a video editor. And we sort of apply effects and edit the video. This is what a lyrical video looks like.

Straight Road – a virtual weekend by the sea

Image
I'm returning to the path of a computer game developer. After a bit of a break. In this episode of the series, as they say. Something 80s and sunny. It's a bunch of drawn sprites. I drew 32 different cars in total. And I tested everything and everything. I improved the menu. I designed a font for displaying numbers. The process is moving forward. And that's the most important thing. Happy driving in a straight line!

Alice in the Park – Alice Sings a Song

Image
The path has widened. It's clearly some kind of field. Made of autumn grass. Which has already turned yellow. Or maybe just those dry, sturdy stems. There's nothing but grass all around. Yellow. Dark yellow. Lots of dry branches. Lots of dry grass. Everything is dark yellow. Different shades of yellow.

My sunny spot in the garden

Image
This summer I had a garden. And I'm so happy about it. This is what I was aiming for. To grow a garden. I'm talking about the summer of 2025. Now I can happily write about my garden. Not about how I grew the plants. And I did that carefully. Not knowing everything how to do it. But just to write about my summer garden.
