Kiss – The Oath – Magic and Sorcery

Music from the elders. Or music from the ancients. Like something from ancient magic. An old book with spells of power from the past. In an old castle. Covered in dust. But there's a lot of light there. Like a huge magical tree. Living for 100 years. And holding within itself a source of magical power. That's how I imagine this album. The opening song.

Magic. This album is dedicated to magic. And some kind of magical knowledge. Which can only be comprehended by listening to music. The mysterious rock band Kiss. And their album, Music from the Elders. The first song. It starts with a very strong rock riff. Rock-style, heavy metal-style, 80s-style. Beautiful composition. Excellent tempo. Sounds like the opening of a rock action movie. But the song is different. More sensitive and more about the world of magic. And witchcraft. Kiss is witchcraft. They even released a comic book series and a computer game about the dark worlds of dark magic.

A powerful rock-style intro. The drums pound, and the singer begins to sing. He has a great voice. And the rhythm continues. The singer sings to the drums. Everything sounds bassy and mysterious. The chorus. It continues to catch you. With a new tempo of singing and a new voice. It's pure fantasy and dark magic, though not evil, rather mysterious and incomprehensible. That's how this song and the entire album sound.

The percussion theme and the drum beat when the singer begins a new phrase stand out well. The singer has a great vocal. And the rock guitars emphasize all the mystery of the Kiss ritual. From the elders. The music, although straightforward overall, is stunning. It doesn't need to be more complicated. Everything is perfectly calibrated. And there's even a solo. A beautiful and catchy guitar interlude again. With what I call long notes. Like Scorpions ballads. There's a fragment like that here too. But the main part is a measured heavy metal rhythm with a song about magic. And some dreams and reveries.

The guitar licks are magical and magical. The perfect sound. Guitar and voice. The main strength of this track. The rhythm is simple but very interesting. It's enticing like magic. And constantly changing. Like something you can't catch. Just like the vocalist's voice. Different performance styles here. And everything is very cool. The rhythm – it's always different.

Sound-wise, it's heavy metal, rock, 80s. Content-wise, it's pure magic. Dark magic. A very sensitive vocalist. And rock music. Loud and dark like coffee. Or an abyss of magic. The vocal techniques are absolutely stunning. And even the solo entrance. Short. But very memorable. With a howling guitar. And always, every time a new part begins, there's a striking moment. And it's like a new part of a spell. A new part in the song.

The song immerses you in an atmosphere of light and darkness. Between light and darkness. Into the shadows. And magic. There are also images, like a castle. Or a door to a large castle. Something bigger than yourself. The surrounding world and magic. And the solo, the approach to the solo, is repeated. I realized this is not a solo. But a musical embellishment. They didn't do a solo. By the way, I'm a fan of the rhythm section myself. And the charisma in the vocals. I'm a fan of magic. And fashion. And once again, magic as dark as coffee. So the rhythm section, the singing, and the magic are at their best here.

For me, this is their most magical album. Not so youthful in the songs. But very mysterious and magical. With vocal themes and excellent rhythm on the guitar. The guitar and voice sound like a complement. First one thing goes great, then another. A cool guitar rhythm or introduction, and then the vocalist shows you vocal wonders. He definitely doesn't practice black magic, but rather dark magic, to be such a cool and charismatic vocalist.

Those choruses with a choir-like effect. They sound great too. The guitar is always in a heavy rhythm. Sometimes there's a roll, like thunder. And the notes linger. Just what you need!

Music listener. From time to time i like to listen to the music. And write about it.
