HAWKWIND - Masters Of The Universe – Space Ritual 2015 - 80s Rock + Cosmic Chaos

From the performance of Space Ritual 2015. As we know, the same composition can be played in different ways. With different intonations, moods, and sound settings. So here we have our own version from 2015. Cosmic. Space rock.

I'm extremely interested in the space rock genre. It's like space. And rock. A great combination. And there's only one band that combines this well – Hawkwind. They play like this. I really like that sound. It's rock. But not evil. With rocky parts. And it can be played like rock. Quite heavy rock. Just the lyrics are different. Or you can add synthesizers, sound effects. Radio frequency effects. All sorts of effects and synthesizers into the sound. That's also interesting.

The composition begins with a very attractive rock rhythm. Just like heavy metal. Straightforward. I like it. It's a solid rhythm section. Only this is a slightly different subgenre – space rock. Very strong chords. And you can already hear a certain moment. Difference. Special effects. Such cosmic sounds. Like in retro sci-fi films. Like searching for a signal on a radio station. Sci-fi and hard rock. Now that's something new. Engineering. Cosmic.

A mesmerizing cosmic vortex. This is a rock intro. And the vocals come fast. The drums are fast. Time and space pass through me. I am an observer. I am the center of the universe. My universe. I am an observer. Although I am not the center. Space is very vast. But cosmic vortices definitely pass through me. Cosmic energy. Especially with songs like these.

Interesting sound effects. Like wind or water, the sea. Or the wind blowing. For a second, something sounds like a synthesizer. But it's probably a guitar. Or maybe a synthesizer. The verse flies off into cosmic paradises very quickly. And the rhythm section starts again. At first, without the rock guitar. Effects and drums. And then the rock guitar comes in. And a solo comes in. Probably a synthesizer. All sorts of synth effects. A rock melody plays. And it's a long track, 7 minutes long. There are a lot of inserts. Straightforward music. With effects. And rock guitar. And drums. And synthesizers. Everything sounds evenly and in turns. Well, maybe it's not a synthesizer.

The song sounds evenly. Such a rhythm. Which is stable. Sustained by the drums. The guitar hums in the background. There is such a moment. A moment when such a noise comes from far away. There are different themes. Breaks. And even a pause at the 4th minute. Such a whirlwind of events and sounds. With different tempos and melodies in the style of rock guitar. Rhythm guitar. Rhythms. Different rhythms. Everything sounds different. And at first one thing then another follows the theme. Although this is a song. But the rhythm is important here. And we listen to the rhythmic pattern for most of the song. The verses rush by quickly. And they're few in length. And the rhythm section takes up 90 percent of the sound. Like dark matter takes up 90 percent of the universe.

At the 6-minute mark, the theme drops. The signal seems to fade. The ending sounds. Something like this. The wind blows. A synthesizer, for sure. And the drums slowly play something. On cymbals. But the singer begins to say something like a story. To the synthesizers. And effects. And something hums. Welcome! This is repeated many times. And the sound swells. Into chaos. Which lasts for a long time. Quite experimental rock, although still within the framework of a heavy metal rhythm section. Now the ending.

I'm a big fan of the space rock genre as performed by this band. And I adore such a straightforward rhythm section, rhythm guitar in a heavy metal style. In the style of the 80s. There's great guitar here. And there's a lot of it. You can listen to all this for a long time. And not noticing how time flies. Catching cosmic energy straight from the speakers or headphones. Radio waves or sound waves. It's a transmission of cosmic energy. I haven't gone crazy yet, have I? That's just how it is. Excellent rhythm guitar. And additional effects for variety. I can just imagine the depths of space. Or something cosmic. Chaos.

Music listener. From time to time i like to listen to the music. And write about it.
