Gardening is fun!
It's already April. The second month of spring. And I'm already getting ready for the new garden. That is, I'm planting. I already have a lot growing. Growing a garden isn't that simple. You just throw it in the ground and let it grow. The truth is, something will grow anyway. But not much. But I'm doing it smart. It's also a complex process. Multi-layered.
Line 1. This is planting the seedlings. And watering. Then transferring them to containers. In these containers, the plants will stay until they're planted in the garden. Their final destination along the way. I use different containers. And this year, I've decided on a standard solution. It's an 8 x 8 container—8 centimeters long, high, and wide.
Plus,
pallets are needed for this. Different formats. But it can hold about 15 or 28
of these containers, depending on the type. The trays are identical except for
the pattern and design. They're also the same length. They're the same width
and depth. You could say they're almost the same.
I also tried growing flowers in the past. Only indoors. On the windowsill. And I had some flower pots left over. I've already used them, too. These are flower pots. A proper size for the entire plant to grow in. Not just until summer.
Line 2. This is where all this stuff will be located. I need to build shelves for the flowers. I started thinking about this for the first time this summer. I have so many flowers! And I'll put them all on the shelves. On the windowsill. I'm making the shelves myself. But the process isn't quick. I haven't even figured out how to do it yet. Line 3. This is constantly monitoring everything you grow. Watering. Monitoring its condition.
Some plants are on the windowsill. Because the soil there gets a
lot of sun, it dries out quickly. And some are on the floor. It's always damp
there, so you don't need to water too often. You also need to feed the plants.
Some kind of mineral fertilizer. This is the first time I've done this, but
it's already showing results. I did it for the first time on March 20th. And
then on March 31st. On April 1st, I did a second round. The instructions say
once every 10 days.
Line 4. These are various components. Resources. Like flower pots, containers. And soil. Flower potting soil. A packet of fertilizer. Mineral type. Everything is added gradually. And I bought the flowers themselves, mostly in stages, slowly, throughout the winter. And early spring. Before planting. In general, everything grows. But sometimes the seedlings don't appear right away. You have to wait. And the seedlings can be weak. I planted for the first time at the end of February.
A gardener
has a lot to do. So much needs to be done to get flowers to grow. Watering.
Regularly when the sun is shining. Even every day. And when it's not in the
sun, it's like a swamp for a few days. Damp soil. I'm already getting ready for
the summer of 2026. To start a garden again.
Right now,
I mostly have plants that grow easily and germinate well. I still wouldn't call
myself an experienced gardener. And then I have marigolds, asters, chamomile,
cornflowers. Those that performed well last year. Or similar plants that grow
easily.
I've taken everything into account. And I'm continuing to master this business! For example, I realized it's better to plant while the plants are still small. Because the root system is fragile. And it's better to plant while the leaves are small. And the roots are small, so as not to damage them. I still make some mistakes. Or I don't have time to do everything. And of course I'll take that into account!
