Bon Jovi - Distance – Photography and Distance
I heard a new song for myself. It had such a dense and slightly dark sound. It turned out to be Bon Jovi. Cool, of course! And his song "Distance." I don't know all his albums. And I was surprised. Such a cool black and white photo. With a huge antenna and lightning in the sky. Great photography. Such a slightly dark mood. But not much. And stylish, like Bon Jovi always is.
Nice intro. Very dense sound. With sharp highs, I think. With a good rumble. A sound like bass. A rough description. Dense, you can immediately tell it's a riff. Something massive. On a musical canvas. Like dark waves. In the dark. Dense, massive. Rolling over and over. And then there's the low part with the bass. And the high part with a kind of sawed-off riff.
Such gloomy
weather. Another way to describe the intro sound. Well, like on the cover. The
photo shows it all very well. And then all the hum dies down. And the density
drops to the level of the acoustics. There's an antenna there. The signal level
has become quieter. The arrow showing the signal is no longer at the highs, but
at the bottom. Such a low sound intensity. Acoustics. The acoustic part is on.
And the singer sings there. In fact, he sings right after the rock riff ends at
the intro.
The singer
has a certain singing style. He draws out the words. It turns out to be his own
way of singing. As if he's talking. Far from home. Outside the window. I keep
walking. Keep walking. Close your eyes. From the part about the road. The rock
intensity increases. And there's even a moment like an orchestral sound. In the
background. For variety. And then the dense rock part starts again. And then
here's the riff from the intro again. It's the guitarist's calling card. It's
the riff. Great idea!
Dark skies. There's a gap. Distance. And there's also a powerful guitar riff. Again, the vocals drag on. The words sound so long. But that's what singing is. Drawing out the words. The guitar reveals some new sounds. And the whole song has this rock rhythm. Similar to the intro. And like waves.
Unknown.
Distant. The song is full-length. That is, almost five minutes. A long song.
Really high-quality. And this time, John sings in a slightly dark rock spirit.
Everything sounds natural in his style. I just usually associate this singer's
music with positivity, good mood, glam rock. And here's another new page in his
work. But the album is great! I first found it by the cover. I got interested.
And this is the first song I came across.
Surprising.
But all the thunder of the guitar and drums here is slightly diluted by an
interesting sound. Like an orchestra. But literally just a little. Interesting
technique. And the rhythm guitars are great here. I especially adore noisy
rhythm guitars. Like here, for example. The guitars are so dark and dense. They
go well throughout the song. The drums are so deafening.
The guitars
here are really good. So dense. The vocals are good. That's also important. The
end result is a really cool song. A bit black and white. Dark. Just like the
cover. It's a really interesting theme. Bon Jovi is a rock band, after all. So,
it's both rock guitar and singing. All in one. I really like the guitars in
this song. As they say, I wish I could master a musical instrument like that.
The vocals,
of course, shouldn't be understated either. Everything is excellent. Everything
is as it should be and sounds great. This disc surprised me. And it all started
with the cover. And then there's "The Distance" – the first song I
heard.
The track
ends like a blockbuster. The sound fades away so slowly. And then there's that
rhythm guitar. And that signature orchestral sound. It sounds really cool! Just
like the most powerful films on VHS or DVD. A powerful movie hit. Just the
song. It's Bon Jovi. And his distance. For me, it's an association between antenna
and distance. Photography and distance. That's how it all started.
Music listener. From time to time i like to listen to the music. And write about it.
