Hawkwind – Its Only a Dream – Immersion in Dreams and Mirrors

For me, this band primarily sings about space. In the spirit of Hawkwind's space rock. That's what I call them. For the albums Space Ritual, Doremi Fasol latido. And they've since released a variety of music, including fantasy. And this time, I really got into their album about the world of dreams. That's my thing. I'm back with Hawkwind.

Their album is dedicated to dreams. There's even a reference to space in one song – Small Objects in Space. So, it's about dreams. The world of dreams. Reveries and dreams. It's a strange and captivating thing, like Alice in Wonderland and the game about strange worlds and eras of magic – Tides of Numenera.

In dreams, a whole new world awaits you. Surreal, full of fantasy and dreams. And here's an album about dreams – Somnia. And from there, the composition is only a dream. It begins with a very beautiful guitar. With long notes. It lasts so long. A melody follows. On the guitar. With some small effects. On the synthesizer. And a bit of noise and interference.

Guitars like these might be found in Scorpions ballads. But here, the composition is in the genre of reverie and daydream. So figurative. More so. Not dynamics, but imagery. Images, dreams, dreams. Everything blurs. The guitar creates this feeling. And then it turns into a hum and rhythm.

When I wake up from my sleep. I try different paths. I look in mirrors. And all this is sung to the hum of an electric guitar. This rhythm could be in pop rock. Or if you speed it up, like heavy metal. But it goes more slowly, like the Cure. And monotonously. I really liked the sound here. The drums hit so loudly here and there, probably brushes. It doesn't sound like drumsticks. Both the guitar and the singing are primary here. Everything else is just effects. Secondary. Life is not what it seems. Just a dream. Just a dream.

Extremely atmospheric and immersive in a world of dreams and surrealism. Alice in Wonderland. I'm a big fan of these kinds of themes and music. Not so much heavy as atmospheric. About dreams and dreams. Hawkwind really surprised me with this album; it's as deep as a dream. Such an enveloping sound. Like a spider's web. Or immersion in water. Flight in space. Weightlessness. If you like this kind of music, you can dream a lot, write, compose, draw. Surreal. Like Tides of Numenera. Whirlwinds of memories and images. Reality and fiction all merge into something new. Which can only happen in the world of dreams.

Excellent dreamy and surreal guitar. If this band invented the space rock genre for me, then I now also believe they invented the genre of dream rock, dream rock, dream rock music. The band continues to surprise me with their new approaches and perspectives. I myself would become fixated on this dream sound. The guitar is monotonous. The drums make a noise like cymbals and brushes. And there are noise and interference effects. A few synthesizers are perfect for the atmosphere. This Hawkwind album is a source of inspiration for all dreamers and dream lovers.

The lyrics are about dreams and mirrors. The word "silent." And I really like the guitar here. It's both melodic and rhythmic. The vocalist seems to be speaking here. Like telling a fairy tale. Singing a lullaby. And singing at the same time. I've never heard singing like that before. This is also my moment. These are all dreams. These are all dreams. These are all dreams. And life is not what it seems. It's just a dream. It's just a dream. As an Alice in Wonderland fan, I'm a big fan of this theme. Beautiful musical interludes at the end.

With hawkwinnd, we're entering, or immersing ourselves in, a world of dreams. A world of reveries. The mirrors here mean something. It's its own world, created by dreams. And different from reality. Excellent, beautiful sound, monotonous sound, rhythmic, but not heavy metal. They make this journey incredible. And endless. The musicians have created a world of dreams. They've created their own universe. Like a fantasy world or a surreal computer game. A universe created from dreams. Alice will be pleased. With such dreams. And journeys. Let's go to sleep!
