Alice in the Park – a mushroom walks through the grass and talks to Alice

Alice walked across a field. The road continued. A dry field. Already dry. And a breeze. Sometimes it blew stronger. It seemed like the climate was slightly different here. But only slightly. That you couldn't tell right away. It was a field. Open space. So, Alice thought. And she walked on.

"Now someone's going to get in the way again!" Alice said cheerfully out loud.

She clapped her hands. But not loudly. And she kept walking. The road was straight. And all sorts of dry branches. And dried grass. Once upon a time, it had been summer here. But now autumn was approaching. The sky was light. But with clouds. The weather had brightened a little. There was a little more space.

"Perhaps this is for the best!" Alice thought to herself.

The path continued. And Alice walked along the path. Sometimes the branches were right in the middle of the road, and you had to go around them. But that's rare. A rare variety. You just keep walking. As if you were standing still. This field never ends.

Something appeared in the grass. Red and white. Alice paused and rubbed her eyes. Something rustled in the grass. And it was moving right across the grass. Toward Alice. Something red and white.

"Does this happen?" Alice thought. And she peered into the dry grass in surprise. The grass was yellow, orange. And there, something red and white was coming toward her. So, leisurely. Someone in the grass said something, but Alice couldn't make out the words.

"Ouch!" came a voice very close. Alice turned slightly to the side. And saw who it was. A mushroom had emerged from the grass onto the road. With legs. A white mushroom with a red cap.

The mushroom was shorter than Alice. And it had little arms and little eyes. It stood attentively in the middle of the road. And looked at Alice for a while. It blinked its big eyes. It stamped its arms. It stamped its feet. As if it were walking in one place.

“Oh! Hello!” said the mushroom thoughtfully and somewhat uncertainly.

“Hello!” said Alice cheerfully! And she waited to see what would happen next.

“I’m walking across the field. And you’re walking along the road,” the mushroom noticed. And it rubbed its arms.

“Along the road. It’s long!” said Alice.

“Yes, it’s a long road. And along the field, it’s a long way too,” replied the mushroom!

“It’s a long way!” said Alice.

“Yes, perhaps a bit long. But you’ll be there soon!” the mushroom perked up a little.

“Further on, the length of the mushrooms!” said the mushroom and smiled.

“Ah, so that’s how it is!” said Alice. "Yes, and there'll be a fork in the road. You can still get to the ant village. If you need to," added the mushroom.

"Okay!" said Alice.

"Okay!" he replied.

"Uh, I still have a long way to go through the grass! I'll be going!" said the mushroom.

"Bye! Mushroom!" said Alice.

And everyone continued on their way. Alice along the road. And the mushroom along the field. Each was going somewhere. The field turns out to be huge. But not endless. And you can get there. Somewhere. Even to different places.
