Space Virus Type 2-2

The ship, like a huge black stone, flew through the void of space. Space is black and endless, as if there is no space at all. There is only infinity. Some incomprehensible and incomprehensible thing – infinity. Through which a huge stone flies.

There were stops. To pick up a few conveniently placed stones along the way. To pick up asteroids. To take materials from them. The ship is built from this building material. Stones. Asteroids. Very useful. And practical. There will be many of them in space. Given the infinity of space, there is also an infinite number of them – a simple calculation. Or rather, an assumption. Quite practical. And it formed the basis for the construction of this spaceship.

Space is so vast. In this darkness of space flies one huge stone. A cleverly designed spaceship, looking like a very large asteroid. Generations of city dwellers live inside this stone. And not all of them even know how this thing works. And one day, the lights went out everywhere on the ship. And since then, it hasn't been there.

The engine builds itself. It's a separate component of the system. The ship's hull itself is also an independent component of the system. It builds itself automatically. Independently. All of this is handled by some kind of automated devices. The townspeople had never seen these robots or automatons. That's how it was designed. The mechanics, the automation, everything worked perfectly.

After some time, it became clear that the ship was infected with some kind of alien fungi. A new life form appeared. Brought in from somewhere during a stop. Everything was done automatically. And the townspeople didn't spend any time on it. Everything worked automatically. During one of these stops, the townspeople didn't even know whether they were flying or standing still. And then this happened. The ship picked up some kind of fungi. Either from a planet. Or from an asteroid. Probably from a planet. Fungi. A new life form. Designated as an infection. For some reason, in the ship's systems.

The fungi spread throughout the ship. Spores. Fungi. Mushrooms grow from spores. Mushrooms produce spores. Which spread easily through tunnels. Along roads. In vast spaces. In rooms. There's been an infection.

A spaceship is like an asteroid. Like a huge rock. Inside it are cavities. There are many holes. Apertures. Like a honeycomb. It's a labyrinth of passages. Corridors. There are an infinite number of them. Especially since the ship itself is automatically constructed from rock. Everything here is made of metal and stone. Lots of stone. Metal is present too. Only now the light has gone out. And there are small towns here. Settlements.

A huge rock absorbs other rocks. This is done automatically. A whole network of passages inside the rock. With residents and small towns. A convenient automated structure. Inside the rock.

Now the lights have gone out. The power supply has also shut down. The date is unknown. Now it's not clear exactly when it happened. When the lights went out. A key event—one that everyone noticed. And it had a key impact on everything. The infection itself passed quickly. And it's still ongoing. The fungi continue to spread within this rock. The ship's ecosystem is maintained automatically. The machines record a huge number of indicators. And so it turns out that the ecosystem has now been reconfigured to accommodate the fungi. The machines now record that they are the primary life form.
