A modern gaming computer – online, and fields with a mage
This year, I tried out various games. I tried quests. Just for fun. Find an item. Or the typical point-and-click. Earthworm was a memorable quest. Mysticism, surrealism. Everything is so strange and also Lovecraftian. The color scheme is like a dream, everything in such soft tones. It's about an island. Where something strange is happening. And a private detective. He also investigates these strange things. I'm a fan of that kind of thing. But I didn't play much.
And then, in the summer, I remembered the fun times. And I played Ragnarok Online. That game is still available. You can easily download the client and play. Everything is right there in Steam. I launched it. Registered there. And everything took off. I played. There are such cheerful little people. And everything is so joyful and summery. The most summery game. Let's start with the porings, those little drops. Pink. And some kind of fluffiness. Like fluffy. And then we move on to choosing our profession. The first 10 levels are just carefree running around and going to poring matches.
I was gaining experience. Like before, I looked at guides. And then I just started playing for fun. I mean, I don't make some super build. I just play. Out of interest. I'm probably an archer or a ranger. I think. I've forgotten a bit. And yes, I remember. I'm an archer there. So I came to the archers' town. I saw the prices for bows there. And I started grinding in that area.
So, Steam
is fun. And then there's GOG. I haven't used GOG much. I played Sacred Gold in
November. November was my heaviest time. I play a battle mage. There's no other
mage there. It's a mash-up game like Diablo 2. Running around vast territories
and grinding mobs. That's the main thing here.
I've already made my way across the bridge to the area where the forest transitions to the sand. I'm collecting various items. I'm leveling up. I'm probably level 10+ by now. The levels don't go by that fast. And then you level up your character. It's a familiar formula. Beautiful isometric graphics. It's fun to explore everything around you.
There are small dungeons. And all sorts of quests. To make the game more fun. You take a quest. Look at the map to see where to go and run there. Simple, linear gameplay. Run back and forth across the map. Then you move so seamlessly to the next part of the huge world. Where there's something else. New visuals. And still the same gameplay. Endless grinding. A grinder's paradise.
I tried some retro games in GoG. Like Jedi Knight 2, about a dark space station like a horror game. Or some other games. Basically, I just played them over and over again. It's interesting to play different games, of course. I tried Warwind. It's a strategy game with some weird twists. You can't even figure out what anyone's building there. It's challenging, creepy, and so surreal. It's unclear what's going on there. But it's fun.
That was the game year 2025 on the Atlas H376 main game system. And we have another game year ahead of us. Playing games is a useful thing. Gaining computer experience, relaxing.
Playing little games. From time to time i like to play videogames. And write about it.
Dima Link is making retro videogames, apps, a little of music, write stories, and some retro more.
